Vinyasa Krama Principles

Time: Saturday, July 23 @ 1-3pm.

Location: Burwell's Martial Arts @ 1407 North Memorial Parkway Suite 16A (Oakwood exit)

Vinyasa Krama is a complete system of techniques brought to the West by several key teachers who studied under the same teacher, Sri Krishnamcharya. In the final decades of his life, Sri K emphasized an adaptive approach to teaching yoga for each individual's needs. Many of these principles can be taught in group sessions, and that is what I will focus on. Participants will go home with a daily practice sheet.

This workshop is perfect for students already practicing a blended approach, and who may not have experienced a traditionally structured, breath centered class. For those new to practice, I offer clear and simple direction.

Led by Kerry Porter

Cost: $20 each or $30 per pair (bring a friend or partner!)

Class structure: Invocation, asana, pranayama (90min); Q&A (30min)

This yoga class is a fundraiser for Uhuru Solidarity Movement, organizing in the white community to build solidarity with African Liberation and reparations to African people. All proceeds will go toward the African-led Uhuru Movement building African self-determination and economic development in the hands of the African working class. Huntsville is home to Zenzele Consignment, which opens in June. Please consider contributing more to this important local project. Click here for more information on Zenzele.

We will accept cash or check on the day of the workshop.
