Yoga for Autistic Adults

Coming soon!! I am working on building online content with the Autistic community in mind. See trainings page for more info!

I was diagnosed a year ago at 42. I started practicing Yoga regularly at 24, long before I had the slightest clue about autism. I am so grateful I stumbled into this practice nearly two decades ago. It has served as a framework for organizing my intense sensory world, mood changes, and tendencies. The lineage I have focused on applies breath based techniques to dynamic postures and is very accessible to most people’s capacity. I practice at home on my own for 10-20 minutes a day. It satisfies some of my need for ritual, repetition, inquiry, self-soothing and connection to my body. It’s been life changing for me.

I am working with a collective of teachers based in New Zealand and the States, called Helum Everywhere. You can check us out on FB here. Most of us are neurodiverse and we can offer our decades of experience with practice as well as our living experience with neurodiversity. We offer free live classes which can be viewd ongoing. I am doing a 30 minutes session each Monday at 5:30pm CST/6:30pm EST. Or if you are in NZ, that's Tuesday morning your time.

Look for updates on this project soon!
